Prior to working in NEITI, he had held senior positions in various organisations ranging from editorial page editor, columnist and editorial board member at Thisday newspapers, to Special Adviser to the President of the Senate, Communication Specialist at UNDP, magazine publisher and public policy consultant.
He was educated at the University of Lagos, Columbia University and Harvard University where he earned a BSc in Mass Communication, an MSc in Journalism and a Master's in Public Administration respectively. At different times, he was a fellow of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism and the Edward S Mason Fellowship in Public Policy and Management, both at Harvard University, the African Leadership Initiative-West Africa (ALIWA) and the African Studies Centre at the University of Oxford.
